Sliding into Summer

Hey everyone!
.
Hope everyone is enjoying their week. I would like to thank everyone for their sweet comments for my family. You will never know how much all of your caring words mean.
.
I had some Magistical Memories projects I wanted to share with you today. I have been itching to scrap those pictures I got last week of the girls on the neighbor's Slip and Slide and I found the perfect chipboard piece to use. That cool sun behind the photos is actually a frame from Magistical Memories. I painted it with yellow acrylic paint, inked it with pink and then dusted it with glitter. It is hard to see in the photo but it has a real pretty sparkle to it.
.

..
My second project is a card I made for DH. We will be celebrating our 16th anniversary in a few weeks and so I made him this card. You can check out the Magistical Memories blog for instructions on how I distressed these Love Birds.

Make sure you check out the new Deal of the Month over at Creative Charms too. You get everything listed below for only $6.99! That is a 70% savings! Just click the Deal of the month link over on my side bar.

A sad weekend

Hi everyone,

I guess I should explain my title. My dad called Thursday morning and as soon as I answered the phone I knew something was wrong. He proceded to tell me that his brother had gone out fishing that morning (not a big surprise, he is an avid fisherman and spends a great amount of his time on the water) and that their boat had capsized. When emergency workers found them 30 minutes later my uncle was already gone. He had died from a stress induced heart attack. The shock of it all really took me some time to digest. I guess one of the hardest parts was how helpless I felt when my dad called. I wanted to be able to wrap my arms around him. He and my uncle were very close and fished together often. I can only imagine how hard of blow this has been to my dad much less my cousins and aunt. Please keep all of them in your prayers.

Things are getting back to normal. We have one more week of camps and then we are done for the summer. This week L is doing a volleyball camp at the Y. So far she really seems to enjoy it. It probably helps that her best friend is also doing the same camp. :) My parents are coming at the end of the week to celebrate K's birthday with us.

I have a couple projects to share with you today. This first card was created for this month's sketch over at Emma's Paperie. Have I mentioned lately how much I adore that store? Cindy has the best stuff! Anyway here is the card I made for the sketch. You can find the sketch and supply list on the blog. .

This second card I created for the lastest Paper Crafts call but it didn't get picked up. Hopefully a different magazine will show him some love. :) I created the balloons by cutting up some rags I had laying around and stitching them to cardstock. I then stuffed them with a little bit of cotton to give them some dimension.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope the rest of your week is wonderful!

Lots of Bling and Flowers

Hope everyone is having an amazing day.
.
So I got this fun photo above of DD and some of her friends at the pool and decided to make it my new blog header. That sort of lead to a whole new blog design. I would love to know what you think. Too blah or just right?
.
We had a very nice weekend this weekend. DH and some friends took a trip to New Orleans for some needed guy time. It has been a long time since he has spent time with these guys and it was a well deserved vacation. So it was just us girls this weekend. I took K and L to a show on Saturday. When we got home the neighbors were playing outside on their new Slip 'N Slide. Yah, it took about 5.3 seconds for my kids to change into their suits. How come I can't get them to move that fast before school? LOL
Hmmm...can you tell which of my children is my clown???

After sliding around for about hour or two we rushed out the door to L's gymnastics award ceremony. I have to say I am very proud of my girls. They are both such positive, considerate sweeties. Proof for my little one came last night at the ceremony. She not only got a medal from her coaches for Best Attitude on her team she also got that big, honkin' trophy for the Team Choice Award. Her teammates voted for her as the athlete they thought was the most encouraging, positive and great to have on the team.

Thursday afternoon we K had an early birthday party. One of her closest friends will be gone for her birthday so we decided to celebrate this week. We took a six of her friends to a water park south of here. The girls had a great time spending the evening on the water slides and relaxing on the lazy river.

I have a few projects to share with you today. The first is one that I designed for the Creative Charms blog. All flowers and beautiful bling is from CC and you can find a complete list
here.
.

The second project I have to share is a wedding card I did for Emma's Paperie. You can find the supply list and all the other designers' gorgeous wedding projects here.
.

I am so thankful for all of you for stopping by my blog. I hope your week is amazing.

Remember this

Happy Tuesday everyone!
.
Thought I would stop by today and post a project I forgot to post. I created this for Emma's Paperie a week or two ago. I love the all the great journaling cards from October Afternoon and decided to use them to create this mini album for the girls. You can find a complete supply list on the Emma's Paperie Blog.

Other than that, we haven't been up to anything too exciting. DH and I had dinner with some friends on Saturday and I discovered I really do like Indian food. :) K had a swim meet on Sunday. She continues to drop time. It was obvious she was kind of tired on Sunday (getting up at 5:15 does not agree with her). Her first three events were good but no time dropped but her last event she knocked out of the park and dropped 13 seconds!
.
Besides that I have just been trying to catch up on house cleaning and laundry while the girls are at their pottery camp. I have done a few cards for the newest Paper Crafts call as well. Can't share those quite yet but I will post the ones they don't pick up.
.
Have a fabulous week everyone and thanks for stopping in!!!

Whew...

so glad it is Friday.
.
The girls and I participated in Vacation Bible School this week and I am beat. We have a program and carnival tonight and then the week is done. It has been a lot of fun but I am looking forward to a relatively quiet weekend at home. K has a swim meet and DH and I have a dinner out but besides that we are going to take it easy.
.
Wanted to share two cards I created for Emma's Paperie. The first project was using some of the new SEI papers. Love all the glitter on these papers. You can check out the Emma's Paperie blog for the supply list.
.

.
The second card is for this week's color challenge. Make sure to check out the blog for the great photo we used for inspiration along with the other designer's interpretations.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

It's Mayhem!

Morning everyone!!!
.
I am sitting here enjoying the second official day of summer vacation. I can't exactly say that we have started relaxing yet. K has already started swim camp and we have to have her there every morning this week by 8:15. It definitely seems to be worth it though. She has mentioned that she already feels like she has much better control over her butterfly (I have no idea how they do that!)
.
Girls and a couple of their friends celebrated their first day of summer vacation getting a mud pedicure. In case you are not familiar with this procedure, it involves turning on the sprinkler in an area of a very new lawn to create a mud puddle. You then simply dunk not only your toes but your whole foot until it is completely covered with mud. What a mess!
.
.
.
Speaking of Mayhem, I finally got around to scrapping some of my favorite photos from last year. The girls and I went visit some friends in Arkansas and found these fake mustaches at a party store. I still laugh everytime I see them. :) Sorry the layout is so small. You can click on it to enlarge the photo if you need to.
.
.
I am seriously in love with all the blign Creative Charms has to offer. I used some of the the Gradient gem stickers to this flower trim from JoAnn's that I found out a while back. I created the butterfly using a butterfly die from Sizzix and added more gems to him.
.
.
I added a Sparkled flower from Creative Charms to the title as well.
.
.
I used Glimmer Mist to change one of the journaling circles from Jillibean to turquoise and that cute little flower below the Prima paper flower is also from Creative Charms.
.
.
I also wanted to share a little Creative Charms CHA sneak peek with you. All of the gems and flowers (besides the paper flower) are from a kit that is going to be released this summer at CHA. It will be available in October, just in time for Breast Cancer Awareness month. For all the detail on this project check out the Creative Charms blog.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a fabulous day!
